Updated – So you finished your daily queue of login into Aion, and you decided to play as Gladiator from level 10. Gladiators are the powerhouse of the melee classes. They can solo pretty well and they can hit multiple targets and can equip almost every piece of armor and weapons.
Gladiators as all good melee classes rely a lot on equipment. Since they are a DPS(damage dealer class), but can switch to an off tank with shield and 1hand, you really have to concentrate on having the best weapon for your level, and good armor, but the most important is your damage output has to be as high as possible for the best gameplay experience, since if you kill fast you will receive less damage, so you can kill a lot without much downtime. Of course this doesn’t always applies on mobs that hit with magic, since if you don’t have the luck to interrupt their spells you will receive some nice damage, depending on your Magical Resist.

Equipment:
I didn’t test the two hand sword, but so far the polearm is great, is does huge damage, and can hit multiple mobs. Until higher levels I recommend you to add Crit Hit Mana stones to your equipment, and some decent HP stones, later at higher levels you can experiment with Parry. Buy if you can, a green weapon from the auction house, or craft them. If you have money you can also carry a shield and a 1hand weapon as a secondary item to tank when there is no tank available, you have the provoke skills to get agro, a skill which saved many healers:)
Armor plate all the way, you don’t need chain at all.
Rotation:
Well not much to discus here, is pretty straight forward until mid-levels, 25+
Crafting:
Crafting in this game takes a lot of money to raise it and time, so choose wisely. To raise it from 0 to 100 in Armorsmithing I wasted like 200k, a lot of money for a lvl 13-20 character. Since you are melee type character I recommend you to choose at first to level only one profession, which can be weaponsmith or armorsmith. Weaponsmith I heard it goes faster, but I choose armorsmith since they are several parts I would need to buy instead i craft them, and for now I buy the weapons.
Each recipe you learn has a greater output, which for example if you craft a white item, you have chance of 10-25% to craft the greater outpout which can bea green/blue/legendary version of the item, which is more powerful and has more mana stones slots.
So far as armor, everything I crafted until lvl 21 was better than anything I found from mobs and quests.
Mats:
- Iron Ore good farm spot is from (South of Dukaki Settlement) Zumion Canyon goin down to Tainted Swamp, that route is full of Iron Ore.
- Minor Armor Flux – Thieves, Peons – Northern Tolbas Forest
- Lesser Armor Flux – drop randomly so far, watch the Auction House and buy them cheap when u can. 200-400 each is a good price sometimes.
- Aether Powder – You have to farm them, or buy them. Star from south of Veteron Citadel and then Ardus Shrine from 25+ Aether Extract skill level.
a)Further level 20:
- Worthy Armor Flux – Random drop you buy or farm somehow, it a pain, i buy them
- High-Grade Titanium Ore – 5% Chance to get one when gathering from Titanium Ore deposits
- High-Grade Aether Crystal – 5% Chance from 100 Deposits, 10% Chance from 125 Desposits, 15% Chance from 150 Deposits.
- Titanium Ore – all over Elten area, easy to find and farm
b) Getting Green Designs and Criting Blue Items:
I got almost of all my worthy plate designs from the Vendor through work orders. Basically concentrate on one work order that has a craft level similar to the design you want, and do that order until is not available anymore, or until you get the worthy recipe as a reward for your work order.
Criting for Blue Items requires luck and some preparation. I always get materials for 5 items of the one i want to crit, and craft them all at a time, usually i crit one in 80% of the cases at least at lvl 23-25, with this technique:P
c)Farming High-Grade Titanium and High-Grade Aether Crystals:
To quickly farm High-Grade Titanium get to 100 Gathering and stop gathering (move) when at a Titanium Deposit, until you start to gather High-Grade. You will deplete quickyl each deposit and you wont get normal Titanium, but it much faster.
To quickly farm High-Grade Titanium get Aether Gathering to 125 at least and gather from 125 Aether Nodes in Elten. Stop each gathering untill you start to gather High-Grade Aether, so you wont spend much time in air, and get exactly what you want.
Making Kinah:
a) Auction House
To use auction house search, you must type exactly the name of the item you want to see the results. Find out how the hell is called
b) So far I did a fair amount on kinah, since I could lelvel my crafting, wear decent equipment and do my thing.
- Every green and white equipment I received from monsters, I sold at auction house
- The crafted items that I didn’t need I sold at auction house
- Iron Ore – Ingots sold at auction house
- Aether powder sold at auction h ouse
Look for each resources you can gather how much money you can make it from it. On food I didn’t see much money in it.
