2009 was a decent year for mmorpg games, but mostly for free mmorpgs. To celebrate the end of the year we made this video with the nominees for Reader’s Choice for The Best MMORPG Of 2009. The results were gathered from our choose the best mmorpg of 2009 poll.

Find out from the video below who won Reader’s Choice The Best Free MMORPG of 2009 Award.

Since our winner for this year is not the same with people’s choice, here are the nominees and winner for The Best MMORPG of 2009 MMORPG Center’s Editor Choice:

It was an interesting year for free MMORPG’s. Runes of Magic has rapidly spread across the globe due to its friendly gameplay and features, both highly similar to World of Warcraft. Many other pay to play MMORPG’s adopted an unlimited trial setup. Nival released Allods Online, and DDO is now free to play. So what is this year’s best, Free MMORPG? It was a tough choice to make, but in the end here is our winner:

Allods Online
From the makers of Heroes of Might and Magic 5 and Rage of Mages comes Allods Online, a polished free mmorpg that you rarely get to see on this market. From the graphics and interface to story and all kinds of features, everything it’s very polished, even more then some pay to play games out here. With a free to play system it’s a fun ride worth having.
