great game… or may be was…many nerfs started at the end of 2008 made peaple leaving game. I guess it can be tactic to buy promised GW 2 but it like never comes. =P
1st game is long & boring, so may be better to play Factions & PvP pack as it still fun. For more fun you can combine with Eye of the North, both will give you fast lvling. Nightfall is nice too but bit longuer & harder, as bonus gives you heros you can keep/use in any game. Superb graphic & no hidden costs, so it nice free to play game, way better then many I’ve seen lately ( like Runes of Magic, Atlantica or even Ajon). GW has realy helpfull WiKi

Guild Wars is by far one of the best MMORPGs i have ever played. As of now though the game has kinda died due to anticipation for Guild Wars 2 and many gameplay nerfs that have taken the fun out of the game. I personally am still playing, have a character of every class except 2, which gives me diversity and allows me to be used in many places in the game. I say WoW is by far more complicated and boring than GW and WoW is more consuming on your life and free time in a negative way. Guild Wars gives you a bit more leeway and less hell. Prophecies is excessive as it is the first of the 3 main storylines and boring, Factions is the quickest and redundant if you’ve done it with a vast majority of your characters like i have lol. Nightfall is fantastic, though many will disagree (that’s cause they are haters!). The expansion storyline, Eye of the North, gave the game a lot more things to do team wise and to make you actually work towards something for Guild Wars 2. I love this game and i’ve been playing for nearly 5 years now. I’d say give it a try if you want to try GW 2 when it’s released, plus it’ll put a lot of things in perspective for GW 2 too lol
