World of Tanks

World of Tanks is a team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with other steel cowboys all over the world. Your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

A flexible system of authentic vehicle upgrade and development allows you to try any of the vehicles and weapons in the game. Whether you prefer to exhaust your foes with fast and maneuverable light tanks, make deep breaches in enemy lines with all-purpose medium tanks, use the force of giant tanks to eliminate opposing armored forces, or become a heavy sniper with long-range howitzers, each unit type has its own advantages and can be extremely effective when operated by a true tank ace.

    Great game, arrogant and hostile dev/support.

  • Thomas Anonymous

    Hopefully if they are indeed perceived as arrogant and hostile, its because they’re heavily focused on improving the game even more. Its the best fun I’ve had all year, especially the LOLTractors.

  • Leerlauf

    Not really an MMO. The tank garage is where you setup your tank, and a mediocre chat-room. Bad indications, and chat does not work in battle.

    There is no trading of items or any other interaction between players as in an MMO. Only interaction is participating in the same battle.

    So it is a normal multiplayer game with the lobby as a starting point into the battles for up to 30 players.

    The fighting game is quite good. If the teams setup would be better. There are 10 levels of tanks, and even though there are always several hundred battles going on at the same time, the system throws together tanks across 5 or 7 diffrent levels most of the time. This could be improved a lot. Balancing of the teams is good though. But if you’re the small tank in a battle with no chance of even scratching an enemy, that’s worthless for you.

    Nice game, but far from a good game or even of something you could call an MMO.

  • TEO

    the game is not intended as high tier tanks vs high tier tanks only. Low tier tanks have their usability and theyre a great asset in scouting enemy positions as well as annoying artillery. The game is balanced. Its about playing with your head and not a shooting fest.

  • Tankmaster

    Great idea but bad performance.Game totaly unbalanced,interface uncomfortable. At first you find this game very interesting but when you realize all deficiencies you are begining to hate developers cause they didn’nt spend a second to make game interesting.You just need one or two tanks of all great number and thats all,other one are peace of sh*t..maybe in couple monthes developers would hear gamers moan and start working..

  • mobidoca

    Nice game! Nice idea. Nice performance. I ike it

  • smash

    @Leerlauf
    becouse now it’s v.0.6.

  • Renesis

    @Leerlauf
    The game is in closed beta, of course that it doesn’t have everything that will make it a mmo and that some things dont work correctly but its being constantly improved and as smash says its only v0.6.
    But much more content is being prepared that will make it a mmo.

    Now it looks like an awesome multiplayer FPS with tanks.

  • Torvold

    Of course the whiney little kids will say devs are hostile because they dont fall over themselves to change everything the ADD kids want changed.

    This is not you bunny hoppin spray and pray shooter, nor is it your grind mindnumbingly for levels mmo. It is the best of both worlds.

    Yes, things need so tweaking, and the devs are constantly doing so. What I love most about this game is that it is a simulation with arcade playability where team work tactics rule over twitch reflexes.

  • madmike69

    this game is now in open beta,,,and after playing for over 4 months, And being a history buff i will say this game is one of the worst attempts at a armored warfare game.the claim by the Developers that the game is historically based is a LIE,,,,German and US tanks have been nerfed to the max and russian tanks are over powered,,,my point being that such things as the German tiger I starts with a 75mm guns is NOT correct as the Tiger was fitted with a 88mm gun and never fitted with the 75mm gun,the russian T-54/55 MBTs are cold war tanks as is most russian tanks and of course there is the fantasy tanks in the game that were never built or only made it to prototype stage. And the fact that the DEVs have refused to listen to complaints by players , like the spotting problems the OP russian tank line and the underpowered US and german tank line, It is almost like they came up with a GREAT idea for a armored warfare game and then worked as hard as they could to stuff it up. the game is in live release in russia and has been getting bagged by russian players for months , even with the russian bias, So if you want a REAL armored warfare game buy steel beast pro PE,as that is accurate and world of tanks is not worth the effort of downloading,,,,thank you

  • bleekmiddel

    i play this game for a few months now. I like it a lot. It makes my mind clear after a days work. You try to find a good spot and wait for the enemy to come and shoot them. Simple. No crafting, no trading, few extra equipments, no social chat, no guilds etc.
    Support is fast en dedicaded and the game can be played free. You dont have to bay gold. Great also.

  • GodOfAudit

    Quite possibly one of the best MMOs I’ve had the pleasure of playing. Now that I have over 1800 battles under my belt I’m just as addicted to this game as I was on day 1. The leveling up of tanks and upgrades is both challenging and rewarding at the same time.
    The breath of tanks is this game is fantastic. Never will you find yourself in a match will the entire same tank or tier. The constant mixing of mediums, SPGs (Artillery), lights, and heavies leads to a fantastic game play that is different with every battle.
    There are so many ways to earn experience in this game it keeps it fun for everyone at any tier. Just because you’re a Tier 10 (the highest) doesn’t mean you will ‘own’ the battle. A few low tier mediums can literally run circles around you picking you to pieces. This is a game that rewards strategy and game play and not just another run and gun FPS.
